Former UFC star Darren Till pleads guilty to driving offences
Darren Till has pleaded guilty to two driving offences.
The former UFC fighter, 30, appeared at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court[1] on Wednesday (August 30) for a planned trial. He pleaded guilty to driving without insurance and driving while disqualified on Ternhall Road in Fazakerley[2] on May 21, 2023.
Till, of Bianca Street, Bootle had also been charged with obstructing a constable in execution of duty, but this was dropped by the prosecution. At a hearing in June, the mixed martial artist had pleaded not guilty to all three charges.[3][4]
Today, dressed in all black and supported in court by a man dressed in all green, Till spoke to confirm his name, date and his address before pleading guilty to the two charges. Till’s solicitor Paul Williams then made an application for the hearing to be adjourned for a special reasons request.
This related to the driving offences, as the court was told Till did not believe he was disqualified at the time of the incident. Though he has pleaded guilty, the special reasons will look to persuade magistrates not to impose points or a disqualification on his licence.
The bench of magistrates approved the request and the hearing was adjourned until November 29.
