Forensic tent outside University College Birmingham campus as boy …

A 16-year-old boy was stabbed as police cordoned off part of a street outside a Birmingham university[1]. Officers set up a small forensic tent near a University College Birmingham campus on the B4135 in the city centre.
West Midlands Police[2] swooped near Camden House - a digital skills hub - on the East Parade, today, Thursday, August 24. Passers-by said the pavement is blocked off by police tape and there is a small forensic blue tent in the middle of it.
The force said the injured youth suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A police spokesman told BirminghamLive: "We were called to a stabbing outside University College Birmingham in Ladywood, at 2.40pm today (August 24). A 16-year-old has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
"Our enquiries are at an early stage and anyone with information is asked to contact us via Live Chat on our website, or by calling 101, and quote log 2794 of 24 August."
A passer-by, 31, from the Jewellery Quarter, told BirminghamLive: “I was surprised to see tape and the cordon - you usually find it’s a hive of activity at that time of day with students but people were being forced into the road to walk up into Paradise. There were two police vans and an officer was getting equipment out of one while wearing rubber gloves.”
A source told BirminghamLive that there were a number of officers at the scene and a group of onlookers had gathered to watch as they continued their investigation.
They said: "I am not sure what is going on - but it looks serious. The pavement is all blocked off by police tape and there is a small blue tent in the middle of it too. There are a few people watching what police are doing but no one seems to know what has happened."
