Flamingo Land latest as theme park forced to shut rides for second day

Some Flamingo Land rides are closed for a second day after the park experienced an electrical fault.

Engineers have attempted to get the rides operating again but they are still not running on Wednesday, August 16, Yorkshire Live reports[1]. The popular North Yorkshire[2] theme park and zoo, near Malton, had no choice but to shut down some of its rides in the Dinostone Park and Swoosh area on Tuesday.

Visitors with pre-booked tickets can change their visit to a different day for free. A spokesperson for the resort has said that despite some problems being fixed on rides in the Dinostone Park and Swoosh area, Cyclosaur, Flip Flop and Flying Clowns are not operating due to an electrical fault. Engineers are in the process of trying to fix this.

A spokesperson for the park said: "We have overcome most of the challenges from yesterday and are pleased to welcome guests again to enjoy our rides, the zoo and daily entertainment. In the meantime, the following rides are not expected to be operating today in our Dinostone Park and Swoosh area: Cyclosaur, Flip Flop and Flying Clowns.

"Sorry for any inconvenience caused, and if you would like to change your tickets to another date, please email [email protected] Many thanks - Flamingo Land."

A spokesman explained that new generators would be installed and staff were hoping to be able to fully reopen the park on Tuesday afternoon. However, those rides are still not operating on Wednesday.
