Edinburgh drivers have been issued an update ahead of the highly anticipated Paolo Nutini gig.[1]

Road works[2] originally scheduled for the end of August at the M9 Junction 1 have been rescheduled to avoid clashing.

Resurfacing works[3] that were meant to go ahead from 8.30pm-6am on 28 and 29 August have been rescheduled for September. The southbound on slip road was also set to be closed on the nights of 30 and 31 August, the night the Through The Echos singer is set to take to the stage at the Royal Highland Centre.

Taking to Twitter, BEAR told drivers: “These works have been rescheduled to avoid clashing with concerts taking place at the Royal Highland Centre: Works on the southbound off-slip hard shoulder will now take place on September 11, 12 & 13. Works on the southbound on-slip will now take place on September 13, 14, 15, 18 & 19.”

For reference, they quoted an earlier posted: “The southbound off-slip at #M9[5] Junction 1 Newbridge will be closed for resurfacing from 8:30pm until 6:00am on the nights of August 28 and 29. The southbound on-slip will then be closed on the nights of 30 and 31 August, and 1 September.”

The Killers are also playing at the Royal Highland Centre on August 29.

Paolo Nutini is to play The Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh on Thursday August 31. Doors open from 5pm and the event finishes at 11:00pm.
