Driver dumps broken down truck in the middle of A12 lane before …
A driver left his broken down truck slap bang in the middle of the A12 before he disappeared. Essex Police came across the broken down car, which was discovered the A12 between Howe Green and Great Dunmow Monday afternoon (August 7).
Police could not locate the driver of the truck, who left it there in a live lane during rush hour at around 5pm. Essex Police’s Operational Support Group (OSG) said there was heavy traffic in the area as they dealt with the road closure.
Essex Police OSG said on Twitter: “Lane 1 of the #A12 is closed between Junctions 17 for Howe Green and junctions 18 for Great Baddow. This is because of a broken down truck. Be aware that there is heavy traffic now in the area.
“The driver of this vehicle is not on scene and left the vehicle in the live lane before our attendance. No report to the Police had been received from the driver or a member of the public and we discovered it in the live lane. We will be dealing with the offences of this.”
