Drink-driving and assault arrest after crash on major route
A 52-year-old motorist has been arrested on suspicion of assault and drink-driving after a crash on a major route.
The A2 in Boughton, Faversham[1], was blocked after a collision on the London-bound carriageway.

A lorry and a car collided at about 2.30pm this afternoon.
Following the incident, police arrested the male driver of the car, and inquiries into what happened are ongoing.
Traffic information site Inrix reported that it happened near Nine Ash Lane.
A police spokesman said: “Just before 2.30pm on Thursday August 3, we were called to a collision between a lorry and a car on the A2 London-bound near Boughton.
“One person has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and assault, and enquiries into the incident are underway.
“No injuries have been reported.”
Police have not yet confirmed whether the person arrested was the lorry driver or the person behind the wheel of the car.
