Cyclist killed in collision with lorry on Battersea Bridge
A cyclist was killed this morning following a collision with a lorry on Battersea Bridge.
The collision happened at around 7.55am and after emergency services arrived the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the lorry did not stop at the scene and the vehicle was located later on this morning in Fulham.
A Met spokesman confirmed the driver had also been located but no arrests have been made at this time.
Road closures are currently in place and are expected to be there for some time while investigations are conducted.
A spokesman for The Met said: “Officers were called at 7.55am on Thursday, August 10 to Battersea Bridge, SW11.
“A collision was reported between a lorry and a cyclist. The cyclist, a woman, was found to be dead at the scene.
“Officers are working to inform her next of kin.
“The lorry did not stop at the scene, but was subsequently located by officers. Enquiries continue.”
