Collision on Edinburgh road leads to traffic delays with emergency …

A collision on the Eastbound overbridge led to traffic being held during the early afternoon on Friday.

The incident was reported at 12.10pm, with the A720 road being closed between Gogar and Hermiston Gate[1].

Emergency services[2] were in attendance but it is currently unknown if there have been any injuries or casualties.

By 12.20, Traffic Scotland confirmed that lane one remains closed with lane two being re-opened on the over-bridge.

The exact nature of the incident is unclear and drivers are being asked to plan their journey.

Writing on social media, Police Scotland said: “The A720, Edinburgh City bypass has been closed eastbound between Gogar and Hermiston following a road crash.”
