Campaign launches to generate inward investment in North …
More businesses are being urged to invest, expand or re-locate to North Lanarkshire as part of a campaign to drive economic growth in the region.
Fronted by successful companies already based in North Lanarkshire, the online campaign targets businesses looking to set up or expand operations in Scotland by outlining the favourable conditions that help make North Lanarkshire the best location for business.
Perfectly placed in the heart of Scotland with an enviable road and rail network connecting Scotland and the UK, North Lanarkshire has a highly-skilled workforce, access to technology and innovation, flexible marketable land and premises and a digital connectivity programme that is driving inclusive growth.
Real business testimonies including Pitreavie Packaging Ltd (Cumbernauld), Scania GB (Eurocentral), Novosound Ltd (Newhouse) and Varamis Rail (Bellshill) reveal in videos why their success is down to location, infrastructure and the skills base right here in North Lanarkshire.
Already almost 8,500 businesses have cemented a base in North Lanarkshire, employing almost 100,000 people, with a turnover of £14.857billion. Around £234million of private investment has been made in North Lanarkshire over the last three years, with more than £100million of that over the last year alone. The region has also attracted more international investment than any other local authority in Scotland over the last two years, with our strong industrial profile and sizeable property market being a key draw for businesses.
Councillor Jim Logue, Leader of North Lanarkshire Council said, “There is no shortage of positive things to say about North Lanarkshire’s economy. Business numbers are growing, employment levels are up and investment levels are high.
“We felt that companies based right here should do the talking about why North Lanarkshire is such a good place to do business. In the videos we see some exceptional examples of companies that have invested in North Lanarkshire by setting up, locating to the region or expanding here. These are great stories that will be shared as part of the online campaign to help attract more companies - with similar ambitions for growth – to North Lanarkshire.”
