Brick thrown from Essex bridge lands on woman’s car
A woman has "fortunately" avoided being injured after a brick was thrown from a bridge over the A127 at Laindon.
The woman was driving London-bound from Basildon to Laindon when the brick was thrown down onto her vehicle from a footbridge. Essex Police said the object was thrown between the Noak Bridge junction and the Fortune of War roundabout.
Officers say the incident was between 10.45am and 11.30am on Monday (August 14). The roof of her car was damaged but she wasn't hurt, Essex Police said.

A van driver died in 2017 when their vehicle left the road and smashed into a tree on the northbound M11 carriageway after a lump of concrete hit the windscreen[3]. In 2011, Lisa Horne and her mum Stella were travelling in a Vauxhall Astra on the A12 in Essex when her windscreen was smashed with concrete dropped from a bridge.
A man was left with cuts to his neck and arms when an object was thrown[4] from a bridge over the A13 smashed their windscreen.
