Biker taken to hospital after crash with road closed for over one hour

A biker has been taken to hospital after a crash in Thornaby[1].
Emergency services were called to Allensway[2], near the Asda Petrol Station and Pavillion Shopping Centre car park, after a vehicle and motorbike collided at around 2.35pm on Tuesday. The road was closed for around one hour and 30 minutes while Cleveland Police and ambulance crews dealt with the collision.
The North East Ambulance Service has since confirmed that it sent one ambulance crew to the scene and transported one patient to the University Hospital of North Tees[3] in Stockton[4]. The extent of the biker's injuries are not known at this time.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "We were called to a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a motorbike at 2.35pm today. Ambulances were called as the rider of the bike has suffered injuries (no details on this yet).
"The road was closed whilst officers dealt with the incident but it reopened at 4pm. Anyone with information regarding the collision is asked to contact Cleveland Police[6] on 101 quoting: 151948."
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to a road traffic collision on Allensway in Thornaby today (1 August) at 2.35pm. We dispatched one ambulance crew and took one patient to North Tees Hospital."
