A3 traffic disruption expected until Saturday due to religious festival …

Drivers are being warned to expect continued delays on a Surrey A-road due to an ongoing religious festival. Traffic issues are set to continue on the A3 near Hurtmore until Saturday morning, August 26.

As there are only two lanes in the area, the closure of one of them will likely lead to slow-moving traffic. Some congestion has already occurred this week as vehicles entered and exited the gathering.

A Surrey Police[1] spokesperson said “Due to a religious festival taking place near Hurtmore until Friday evening (25 August), there is expected to be some travel disruption on the A3 southbound at Hurtmore until Saturday morning (26 August).

“If you are travelling through the area, please watch out for any vehicles exiting the site. There is no slip road to allow them to build up speed, so they may initially be quite slow-moving.

“Please bear this in mind when planning your journey, as there may be some minor congestion in the area until Saturday afternoon. Keep an eye out for any National Highways signage when travelling southbound past Guildford[3] and follow any directions given.”

Traffic in the area is expected to get back to normal by Saturday evening.
