A13 shut after lorry hits bridge causing huge delays – live updates

Traffic is at a standstill on the A13 in Essex this afternoon (August 8) after a lorry hit a bridge. Inrix is reporting the entire eastbound carriageway in Essex is blocked near the junction with the M25 due to the incident which occurred at around 12pm.

There are severe delays on the major road today following the incident near the junction with the A1306 at the Wennington Interchange. All traffic has been halted in both directions

Some traffic is being diverted away on the slip roads of the interchange, Inrix has reported. There is congestion all the way to Rainham on the eastbound carriageway and delays for half a mile on the London-bound carriageway.
