Woman died after horse ‘spooked’ by motorcycle during crash
A woman has died falling from her horse after it was ‘spooked’ by a motorcycle, police have said. Wiltshire Police officers were called to Bollands Hill, near Seend, at around 3.40pm on Sunday afternoon (July 9) following reports a woman had fallen from her horse.
The force said the horse was spooked by a motorcycle which was approaching from around a blind bend. The horse rider, a woman in her 50s from Melksham, was injured and sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said her next of kin have been informed. “Our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time,” a police statement said.
The motorcyclist and the horse sustained minor injuries. Police said no arrests have been made.
