Wilmslow driver clocked speeding on motorway appears in court

Alan McBride, of Hawthorn Grove, Wilmslow, was caught driving a vehicle on the M606 southbound in Bradford on December 28, last year, exceeding the 50mph speed limit.

The 54-year-old pleaded guilty at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates Court on July 4 this year.

An automatic camera recorded the driver speeding at 58mph near a slip road at Kirklees, Cleckheaton.

McBride was fined £452 and ordered to pay a £180 victim surcharge and £90 costs.

His driving licence was endorsed with three points.

Magistrates took his guilty plea into account when imposing the sentence.

The defendant was given until August 1 to pay the £722 court penalty.
