Van destroyed by dramatic fire in north Bristol
Firefighters from two stations in north Bristol rushed to the scene of a huge van fire in a residential road this morning.
The blaze completely destroyed a large van, parked at the entrance to Martin Close in Patchway[1] just after 10.30am this morning (July 15).
The van was well alight when passengers on a bus travelling south down Coniston Road towards Charlton Hayes captured the scene on camera before the arrival of the fire crews.
A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue[3] Service said crews in two fire engines rushed from Patchway and Southmead[4] to the scene, and no one was injured.
“Firefighters utilised hose reel jets and two firefighters wore breathing apparatus to extinguish the blaze,” he said. “The cause of the fire was deemed to be accidental.”
