Tribute to ‘much-loved’ dad as Guisborough crash leaves one dead …
A grieving family has paid tribute to a "much-loved" dad who died following a Guisborough crash.
Emergency services were called to Middlesbrough Road on Friday evening[1] following reports of a single-vehicle crash involving a BMW 5-series. The road was closed off by police in both directions - with the North East Ambulance Service sending a number of vehicles and requesting air ambulance support.
Tragically, Kellam Hodgson, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has since released a heartbreaking tribute, saying: "Kellam was a much-loved son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend." Another man, aged 35, remains in a critical condition in hospital.
Cleveland Police has released an appeal for anyone with further information to get in touch following the incident - which took place just after 8pm - specifically asking those who may have witnessed the crash or have dashcam footage to get in touch. Social media reports suggested a large section of the road was cordoned off by police, from the bottom of Stokesley[3] Road to the Co-op roundabout. Motorists were urged to avoid the area at the time of the incident.
Teesside Live visited the scene on Saturday morning, where the cordon had been lifted and there was no presence of police or ambulance crews at the scene. A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on The Triangle in Guisborough[4] shortly after 8pm this evening.

Officers were called to a single-vehicle collision involving a BMW 5-series at around 8.10pm on Friday 30th June 2023 on Middlesbrough[6] Road, Guisborough.
"Sadly, 37-year-old Kellam Hodgson was pronounced dead at the scene. Kellam’s grieving family have today paid tribute to him and has asked for privacy during this extremely difficult time." His family said: "Kellam was a much-loved son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend."
