Traffic chaos warning as Severn Trent works lead to closure of main …
Drivers could face traffic chaos after a main road in Nuneaton[1] was forced to close. Earlier this afternoon (Tuesday, July 11) part of Arbury Road, close to its junction with Westbury Road, was shut off.
The road has been coned off with a red warning sign saying ‘road ahead closed’. Blue barriers are also in place and there is a Severn Trent sign.
CoventryLive has contacted Severn Trent about the works. In the meantime, Warwickshire[2] County Council’s online roadworks map shows that the road closure was put into place at 1.55pm and that it could last for several days.
It states: “Roadworks delays likely, July 11, 13:55 to July 14 at 16:00.” The online map does not explain what type of works are taking place.
What is known is that the closure will impact traffic heading from Stockingford and Galley Common towards Nuneaton town centre. There are also ongoing three-way roadworks on nearby Heath End Road[3] that may also add to the congestion in the area. It is also impacting Croft Road and Haunchwood Road.
