Traffic building after man in his 80s taken to hospital after crash

Traffic is building in Fleetwood after a crash this morning (July 14).

Officers were called to Amounderness Way at around 5.34am to reports of a crash.

A VW Passat car crashed into the back of a stationary lorry.

The driver, a man in his 80s, has been taken to hospital with leg and facial injuries. According to national highways, traffic in the area is slow.

The road is closed between Bourne Way and B5268 Fleetwood Road.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called at 5.34am today to Amounderness Way, Fleetwood, to a report of a road traffic collision. A VW Passat car collided with the back of a stationary lorry.

“The car driver, a man in his 80s, suffered leg and facial injuries and has been taken to hospital.”
