Three people hurt following two-car crash on motorway

Three people were left with injuries following a two-car crash on the M74 on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the motorway’s junction seven, near Allanton, Hamilton, at around 2.40pm on July 2.

Three people sustained injuries, and their condition is currently unknown.

Police Scotland confirmed enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.

The M74’s southbound carriageway was closed for more than two hours, and reopened shortly before 5pm.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Around 2.40pm on Sunday, July 2 officers were called to junction seven, southbound on the M74, following a report of a two vehicle crash.

“Emergency services attended and three people sustained injuries.

“Enquires are ongoing.”
