Teen boy stabbed after being ‘confronted by group’ in city park

A teenage boy has been stabbed in an Essex city after he was confronted by a "group of young people". Essex Police are appealing for information following the incident on Friday evening in Colchester.

Officers were called by members of the ambulance service to an incident which had taken place in Old Heath Recreation Ground in Colchester, shortly after 7pm last night (July 21). Enquiries established that a group of young people had confronted a teenage boy.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "During an altercation, the teenage boy sustained a wound to his arm which is not thought to be life-changing. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

"No arrests have been made and our enquiries are ongoing. We’re urging anyone with information on the incident to come forward and speak to us.
