Motorists on the A11 are faced delays this afternoon (Monday, July 10) after a serious collision which closed part of the road. National Highways reported that the road was closed in both directions, whilst Norfolk Police said that it was only the southbound carriageway which was affected.
It was first reported to traffic monitoring site, Inrix at 12.45pm. Police said that emergency services were on the scene and National Highways put a diversion route in place. One man was taken to hospital by land ambulance but his condition is not known.
A National Highways spokesperson said at the time: “The A11 in Norfolk is closed in both directions between the B1172 (Wymondham) and the A47 (Thickthorn Interchange) due to a road traffic collision. Emergency services including Norfolk Police are in attendance.”
Traffic is now beginning to move again through the area.
