Scene of devastation as teen crash victim in Royal Stoke

A teenage biker has been taken to hospital after a town centre collision. Emergency services descended on King Street, in Kidsgrove[1], following reports of a two-vehicle collision just after 4.30pm on Sunday, July 23.

The crash involved a white Mercedes and a black Yamaha motorbike.

A Staffordshire Police[2] spokesman said: "The motorcyclist, a boy in his late teens, suffered a leg injury and was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be serious. The driver of the Mercedes stayed at the scene and has been helping officers with their enquiries. Inquiries are ongoing."

West Midlands Ambulance Service[3] sent one ambulance to the crash scene.

An ambulance service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a collision between a car and a motorbike on King Street. On arrival we discovered one patient, a teenage male, who was the motorcyclist. He was treated for potentially serious, but non-life threatening injuries, before being taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital[4]."

Witnesses should call the police on 101, quoting incident number 491 of 23 July, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
