Sandbach woman arrested after police seize knife and cannabis

A woman from Sandbach has been arrested after police found a knife and cannabis. The 33-year-old was stopped and searched by police in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, after she was seen acting suspiciously on July 7.

She was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cannabis, possession with intent to supply cannabis and possession of a knife.

She has since been released on conditional police bail while inquiries continue.

PC Edward Clarke, from the Stoke North local policing team, said: “We have been able to take a dangerous weapon off our streets through proactive and visible patrols in the town centre.

“We’d like to reassure the community that regular patrols will continue in and around the town centre to make sure local officers are visible and accessible to residents and businesses.”
