Road in Lostock Hall still closed after HGV overturns

The A582 Farington Road westbound, between A5083 Stanifield Lane and Fidler Lane, is still closed this morning (July 10) after a lorry crashed onto its side on Sunday afternoon (July 9), at around 2pm.

This affects traffic heading away from the M65.

Recovery work is still underway and an update will be issued once the road has reopened.

A spokeperson for AA Traffic News said: “Road closed, recovery Work, earlier Rolled Over Vehicle, queueing Traffic.

“Road closed and queueing traffic due to recovery work and earlier rolled over lorry on A582 Farington Road Westbound between A5083 Stanifield Lane and Fidler Lane.

“The road has been closed since Sunday afternoon, affecting traffic heading away from the M65.”
