Police raid cannabis factory in sleepy Welsh village

Police have seized evidence from an address in Cymmer, Neath Port Talbot[1]. At 10.30am on Friday, July 28 officers received reports of a cannabis factory on Station Road in the village.

Residents had seen officers wearing protective equipment entering the address, where three police vans were reportedly present. A South Wales Police[2] spokesperson confirmed that officers were still there in the afternoon.

A statement, received shortly after 3pm, said: “At 10.30am this morning officers attended reports of a cannabis factory at an address on Station Road, Cymmer. Units remain at the scene while they investigate the scene and seize the evidence.”

No details about whether there were any arrests made or the type of property raided have yet been given by police.

Station Road is a relatively short and narrow section of the A4107 in Cymmer, largely comprising of terraced houses. It also has a former bank on the street – which was once run by HSBC – that closed in 2009.
