Police issue update as man fights for life after crash

A motorbike rider remains in a critical condition after a crash with a car.
Police[1] were called to the junction of Coopers Lane on East Lancashire Road[2] in Knowsley[3] at about 8.42pm last night (July 28) following reports of a crash. A blue Ford car and a motorbike had crashed at the busy junction. The 39-year-old rider was taken to Aintree Hospital[4] in a critical condition. No arrests have been made at this time.
He remains in hospital in a critical condition. Last night, a cordon[5] was in place along a large stretch of East Lancashire Road between Hewitt’s Lane and Moorgate Road South. Pictures from the scene show a lot of debris in the road.
Accident investigators were seen placing yellow evidence markers around both vehicles. They were also using torches to inspect the crime scene.
