Person in hospital after car and lorry crash

A person was rushed to hospital following a crash between a car and a lorry near Bath this morning (July 13). Avon and Somerset Police[1] were called to the A37 High Street, in Ston Easton, at around 10.30am.

The road was closed following the collision as the vehicles were recovered and debris was cleared from the road. According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, it reopened and traffic returned to normal by 1.30pm[2].

There were delays in both directions following the crash. During the High Street closure, there was congestion between Farrington Gurney and Ston Easton.

Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called to High Street, in Ston Easton, near Bath, at around 10.30am today (Thursday 13 July) following a collision between a car and a lorry.

“One person was taken to hospital. The road has been closed while the vehicles are recovered and debris cleared.”

Inrix reported at 1.31pm: “Accident cleared on A37 High Street in both directions between Green Street (Ston Easton) and A39 (Rush Hill Junction, Farrington Gurney).”
