Person hit by lorry in Scots town centre as roads shut down

A TOWN centre has been shut down after a person was hit by a lorry.

Mercy crews raced to High Street in Lanark, Lanarkshire[1] earlier this afternoon.

The person was struck by the large vehicle around 2:50pm.

Cops[2] have shut down the busy street in both directions.

Diversions are also in place while crews handle the incident.

A Police Scotland[3] spokesperson said: “Around 2.50pm on Monday, 3 July 2023 police received a report of a crash involving a lorry and pedestrian on High Street, Lanark.

Emergency services[4] are at the scene and High Street has been closed in both directions with diversions in place.”
