Pedestrian hit by car outside nightclub in hit and run crash

A male pedestrian has been injured following a hit-and-run crash. The incident happened in Brentwood High Street outside the Bloc 40 nightclub, with emergency services called to the scene at around 3.30am.

A man was found injured after a car drove at him outside the venue before fleeing towards the M25 turnoff. Essex Police and East of England Ambulance Service attended the scene.

The man was rushed to hospital where his injuries are non-life-threatening or changing. Police believe the suspected car involved was a Ford Puma.

An Essex Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses after an incident outside a nightclub in Brentwood where a car was in collision with a pedestrian. The incident happened at around 3.30am on Sunday 23 July outside Bloc 40, in Brentwood High Street.

“It was reported a car, believed to be a Ford Puma, was driven at a man outside the venue, before making off towards the M25 turnoff. The man suffered injuries which are not life-threatening or life-changing.
