Paramedics end up in A&E with their patient after lorry crash flips …
An ambulance carrying a patient 'overturned' following a crash with a truck. Police, firefighters and the air ambulance were scrambled to the collision in Winsford[1] where a road was shut off.
Today Cheshire Police[2] is appealing for witnesses as an investigation into the crash in the Clive Lane area gets underway. The collision is said to have taken place at the junction of the A54, Middlewich Road and Clive Lane just before 6pm on Thursday (July 20).
Officers have confirmed the four people inside the ambulance - which included the driver, two paramedics and a patient - were all injured and taken to hospital. Meanwhile the truck driver, a 58-year-old man, of Bridgend, was not hurt.
Meanwhile Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service[3] sent two engines to the scene with Clive Lane shut off. A spokesperson, who said the air ambulance had been called, said: "Three casualties self-extricated from one vehicle, with the fourth taken out by firefighters and handed into the care of paramedics. Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour."

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses. A spokesman said: "Shortly before 6pm on Thursday July 20, police were called to reports of a collision at the junction of the A54, Middlewich Road, and Clive Lane, in Winsford.
"Officers attended the scene and found the collision involved a HGV and an ambulance. The ambulance had overturned as a result of the incident.
"The driver of the ambulance, along with two paramedics and a patient who were in the back of the vehicle, were all injured during the collision. All four occupants have been taken to hospital; their injuries are not believed to be life threatening at this time.
"The driver of the HGV, a 58-year-old man from Bridgend, was uninjured. Enquiries into the collision are ongoing and anyone with any information or video footage is asked to contact Cheshire Police."
