THE New Forest and Christchurch will be hit by strong gusts up to 55mph on Saturday, the Met Office has warned.
The yellow warning for the south and south-east of the UK is in place from 9am until midnight.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “A blustery and showery day, with some thunder, will see winds gust widely... up to 50-55mph during the daytime.
The warning is in place from 9am until midnight on Saturday (picture: Met Office)“The strongest gusts are likely to occur mainly, but by no means exclusively, over hills and along the south coast.”
Delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely, and some short-term loss of power and other services is possible.
Some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves and delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges are also likely.
There could also be damage to trees or temporary structures such as marquees, tents and inflatables.
