Music festival to be held at Harry Potter themed venue on Teesside

One of Teesside's most unique venues is set to host a music festival.

The Funkbox DJs are putting on an event on Saturday, July 22 at North Shire in Liverton, Saltburn[1] - a magical venue which offer themed holidays and "enchanted" weddings where visitors can stay in a Lord of the Rings themed Shire cottage or

Hagrid's Hut[2]

. At the event there will be 15 DJs, including two who are well known in the underground music scene, and a host of local talent.

And with the venue set in six acres of the North York Moors, the festival will have a gorgeous backdrop and is a first for North Shire.

Danny Condell, one of the Funkbox DJs, said: “There’s six of us who have put this on and tried to go for a very unique venue that nobody has ever done before. This is the very first time that North Shire has put on an event like this.”

The two headliners are Josh Micky, who is from Patrick Topping’s Trick label, and Dev Star who is “one of the best technical DJs in Britain” and has his own record label called Make You Move Records. Lee Pennington and Lee Walker, who both run riffraff, one of “longest standing underground house music nights in Middlesbrough[4] ” will also play at the event.

The Funkbox DJs will put their “own spin” on the enchanted barn as they will “kit it all out”. There will be an enchanted barn arena and a marquee which will be called the “Stonehenge arena” and there will be lots of lighting, as well as a big sound system.
