Mum’s death two days into holiday leaves family heartbroken
A family has been left devastated after a mother and grandmother died two days into a Portugal holiday with her partner. Julie Beaumont was just 58.
She died on Monday, July 17, and a close friend of the family, Eden McCallum, is helping her four children and 10 grandchildren come to terms with their sudden loss. She has organised a GoFundMe page that is raising money towards the £5,000 cost of the Huddersfield woman’s funeral, reports YorkshireLive[1].
The page reads: “As you can imagine this has left us all heartbroken and lost without the head of our family. Julie was an outstanding mother to Della, Corrina, Kyle, and Kieran Beaumont and a devoted daughter to Douglas Brearley and Lesley Smith who she cared for up to her death. She was also a star of a sister to Michelle Brearly and a super nanny to her 10 grandchildren.
“We will all miss her every day and with all our hearts. We are still in shock and still have to find out mum’s cause of death while waiting for her body to be brought home. Of course, we never planned for such an event and unfortunately mum had no life insurance, therefore we are not prepared for the high cost of a funeral. We would like to be able to say goodbye to mum with the nice service she deserves.
“Julie was a large part of the Almondbury community, having lived there all of her life and more recently as the stewardess of Almondbury WMC. Mum was the heart and soul of the party and the mother to everyone’s problems.
“She has left a massive hole in all our lives and the coming weeks will be extremely difficult. If anyone would like to contribute, any donations, big or small would help toward the cost of the service and be greatly appreciated at this devastating time.”
Eden added: “She was a mother to everybody and everyone is in shock at what has happened. She was in good health as far as everyone was aware before she flew out. A post mortem is yet to be held into her death. She came out to Portugal on Saturday, July 15 and she passed on Monday morning, July 17.”
