Medics say ‘nothing could be done’ to save motorcyclist killed in crash

Medics said “nothing could be done” to save a motorcyclist following a crash in Wolverhampton[1]. The biker – who has not been named – was involved in a collision with a car on Ettingshall Road on Friday evening (June 30).

Emergency services were called to the scene, at the junction with Coningsby Drive, at 11.24pm. The motorcyclist, who was in his 30s, was found to be in a critical condition.

Ambulance staff began advanced life support but despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene[2]. The driver of the Renault involved at the collision remained at the scene and was helping police officers with the investigation

A West Midlands Ambulance Service[4] spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a collision between a motorbike and a car on Ettingshall Road at 11.24pm on Friday night. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the West Midlands Care Team were sent to the scene.

“On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was the motorcyclist. He was found to be in a critical condition and ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support. However, despite their best efforts it sadly became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”

West Midlands Police[5] has urged anyone with information or dashcam footage of the incident to get in touch. People should call 101 or use the live chat facility at www.west-midlands.police.uk, quoting log 5634 of June 30.
