Man loses bank card and finder goes on ?1000 shopping spree

A shopper lost his bank card before finding out that £1,000 had been spent on it at various locations across Gloucester.[1] Investigating officers from Gloucestershire Police[2] have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the alleged fraudulent use of a bank card.

It is reported that the victim lost his card while shopping at Lidl on Eastern Avenue at around 5.25pm on Wednesday, June 21. The money is then said to have been spent across the city, including Gloucester Quays[3].

Police said in a public appeal: “Investigating officers have been conducting enquiries and are yet to identify the man pictured so are now asking for information from the public.

“Anyone who recognises the man or has any information about what happened is asked to complete the following online form[5] quoting incident 530 of 21 June.”
