Man dies following Rotherham lorry collision

A man's died after reportedly being hit by a lorry in Rotherham.

It's believed it happened in the Greasbrough area on Friday morning (14 July).

The pedestrian - a man in his 60s - was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

South Yorkshire Police say at 11am on Friday, emergency services were called to Car Hill, outside the recycling centre entrance, following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a DAF lorry.

It is understood that the collision took place on the downhill carriageway heading towards Rotherham town centre.

The pedestrian, a man in his 60s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin has been informed.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and information about what happened.
