Man arrested for ‘pulling woman to the ground’ from car

A man has been arrested following an incident in Royal Wootton Bassett[1] which led to a woman being dragged out of a car. According to Wiltshire Police, the reported incident took place on the A3102 Swindon Road on Sunday, June 25.

A woman, aged in her 30s, was travelling in a black Vauxhall Zafira with a man also in his 30s at around 6.30pm. As the car approached the BP garage, the man got out of the vehicle, went around to the passenger side and pulled the woman to the ground.

Police say the man was arrested on suspicion of assault. He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Investigating officers are now appealing to hear from anyone who saw what happened. Wiltshire Police[3] said in a public appeal: “We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident as part of our investigation.

“Anyone with information should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54230066651. Alternatively, call CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
