M40 exit to be ‘closed for hours’ after LORRY OVERTURNS and …
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Bicester[1], KidlingtonĀ and Didcot attended theĀ overturned lorry on the roundabout at Junction 10 of the motorway at 04:40 this morning.
The lorry driver was fortunately uninjured.
The lorry carrying a non hazardous load of water, had a significant diesel leak which crews worked to stem and prevent entering the drainage system as far as possible using equipment carried on all fire appliances from the Environment Agency.
Working with colleagues from Highways Agency Eastern, Thames Valley Police and the road network operator – the scene was made safe.
However, due to diesel contaminating the surface, the road remains closed at the B4030 at Ardley to the roundabout, as well as the northbound exit slip at Junction 10 and will be for a number of hours for recovery and examination and repairs to the road.
