‘Lovely local’ with ‘first class’ food voted Teesside’s best spot for pub …
A “lovely local” has been named as Teesside’s best spot for pub grub.
The Three Horseshoes, at Cowpen Bewley in Billingham[1], has bagged the top spot following a survey by Teesside Live readers. The site has an impressive 4.5-star rating based on over 600 Google Reviews, with it being hailed by customers as having “gorgeous” food and a “lovely” atmosphere.
From breaded scampi[2] tails to beer-battered fish and chips, the venue serves up a number of classic pub grub dishes, also offering customers burgers, steaks, curries and parmesans. The site “prides itself” on using local ingredients wherever possible.
One happy customer said: “We had a lovely meal here on Saturday. The food was delicious, fresh, and not badly priced.
“Nice atmosphere. Would recommend and would go again.”
Another added: “What an outstanding venue! Excellent choice of food and drinks all served with efficiency and care, will definitely be back and would give six stars if I could.”
Another visitor explained: “First class food and service. Very pleasant friendly staff.
“Would definitely recommend!” One person even argued that the venue serves “not just pub grub” but “proper food.”
Second place on the list was claimed by the Six Medals, in Middlehaven, Middlesbrough[4], which is known not only for its “delicious” and “reasonably priced” according to visitors but also as an important stop off for fans heading to the Riverside Stadium[5] for a Boro[6] match.
