Latest speed cameras for East Yorkshire – including major A roads

Three of East Yorkshire’s major A roads will be visited by mobile speed cameras in the coming days.

The A1079, A1034 and A1033 will all be the focus of speed monitoring over the next week. Enforcement officers will be stationed at sections of the road including Shiptonthorpe, South Cave and Camerton (near Thorngumbald) respectively.

Mobile speed camera vans will the B1249, near Driffield, and the B1228, at Sutton on Derwent. Safer Roads Humber and Humberside Police enforce cameras around the region to help crack down on speeding motorists.

Drivers can see where the mobile cameras are likely to be situated through the daily enforcement schedule on the Safer Roads Humber website. However, not all locations are listed on the schedule, so motorists should take care and exercise caution when driving in the region.[2]

Mobile speed cameras will be in the following locations in East Yorkshire.

  • Sun July 30: Sites across the region
  • Mon July 31: B1249 between Langtoft and A614 (near Driffield)
  • Tue Aug 1: A1079 at Shiptonthorpe
  • Wed Aug 2: B1228 Main Street, Sutton on Derwent
  • Thu Aug 3: A1034 at South Cave
  • Fri Aug 4: A1033 Main Road, Camerton
  • Sat Aug 5: Sites across the region
  • Sat Aug 6: Sites across the region

For those crossing the Humber Bridge, mobile speed cameras will be coming to:

  • Sun July 30: Sites across the region
  • Mon July 31: Cromwell Road, Grimsby
  • Tue Aug 1: North Moor Lane/North Moor Road, Messingham
  • Wed Aug 2: B1207 Station Road, Scawby
  • Thu Aug 3: A1077 Ferriby Road, at Barton on Humber
  • Fri Aug 4: A180 Great Coates junction
  • Fri Aug 5: Sites across the region
  • Sat Aug 6: Sites across the region

Humberside Police, in partnership with Safer Roads Humber, will be at several other sites throughout the week that are not listed above. Humberside Police reserves the right to enforce speed limits on any road, at any time.
