A Land Rover smashed into a lamp post blocking one lane of a busy road earlier today.

Officers were called to Peartree Avenue at 4.30pm after the car collided with the post.

West End Road junction with Peartree Avenue/Angel Crescent; RTI partially blocking one lane. Approach with caution.

The vehicle was recovered and enquiries are ongoing with the driver.

One lane was partially blocked following the crash.

It has since reopened.
