Huge free monster truck show to feature fairground and world food

Darlington is set to host a big free family event this weekend.

There will be a free monster truck show at Darlington[1] Rugby Club on Grange Road all day from 11am on Saturday, July 29 and Sunday, July 30. Visitors will be able to watch monster trucks and ride them as well.

There will also be a continental bar offering world food, and a fairground. The event is organised by Carnival Fun Fairs, who is putting it on for the first time, and it will raise money for the charity Man Health.

Paul Evans, owner of Carnival Funfairs, said: “Darlington Rugby Club is set to get the biggest free show in County Durham in 2023 is aid of the mayor’s charity fund Man Health on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th July with a totally free giant monster truck show and with free admission. Nothing like this has ever been seen in the town and it will be a fantastic weekend out for all the family.”

Leada Autoparts, who are sponsoring the event, added: “This will be one massive family fun event and much needed party with free admission (people can actually ride on a monster truck also), free to watch monster truck where the huge turbo beasts decimate cars and accelerate at such a such a speed they leap into the air.”

There will also be a “world food all-day continental bar” and Carnival Fun Fair’s “gigantic fairground”. The event organiser added that “everyone is welcome” and people can just turn up.
