Heavy traffic on Essex road after lorry overturns – live traffic updates

A lorry has overturned causing heaving traffic near Basildon this Monday morning (July 24). The A1321 Broadmayne has been closed by the incident with significant traffic in the surrounding area as a result.

The incident happened on a roundabout between Broadmayne (A1321) and East Mayne (A132). Traffic is coping well according to Essex County Council, but traffic monitoring service INRIX says there is heavy traffic affecting travel this morning.

The incident was first reported at around 7.10am this morning.

Emergency services are understood to be attending this incident, given the situation it’s likely the road will be closed for some time as efforts are made to recover the lorry from the roundabout and clear any debris.
