‘Heart of gold’ nan, 47, killed in bin lorry crash horror as family pay …

A grandmother who was killed when a Ford Fiesta collided with a bin lorry has been labelled the “best mum” by her devastated family.[1]

Michelle Atherton, who was the passenger in the car[2], was treated for serious head and chest injuries[3] at the scene in St Helens, Merseyside, at around 7am on Wednesday (July 6).

The 47-year-old mum-of-four was then rushed to hospital where she died a short time later, and her loved ones have now released a touching statement, reports the Liverpool ECHO.[4][5]

The tribute said: “Our mum was the best mum that anyone could have ever dreamt or wished for. She had a heart of gold and a smile that would light up any room that she graced her presence with.
