Girl, 14, is hit by car and breaks ankle

A 14-year-old girl suffered a broken ankle when she was hit by a car.
The crash happened on Thursday afternoon at around 4.30pm in Chatsworth Road, Worthing.
One witness said the road was cordoned off and described “lots of police and a fire engine” at the scene.
There was heavy traffic in the area while the road was closed.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Police responded to a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Chatsworth Road, Worthing, at around 4.35pm on Thursday 6 July.
“The pedestrian – a 14-year-old girl – was taken to hospital with a fractured ankle.
“A section of the road was temporary closed while emergency services attended the scene; we thank the public for their patience and understanding.”
