Floral tributes at fatal two-car crash scene as police issue appeal
Flowers in brightly coloured bouquets have been laid at the scene of a fatal crash in Hollywood[1] which saw a man die following a two-car collision. A man sadly lost his life following the two-car collision on Houndsfield Lane near Hollywood on the outskirts of the village of Wythall.
The crash happened at around 7:42am on Wednesday July 26, and tragically nothing could be done to save one of the male patients. The man has not been identified publicly yet.
Touching floral tributes have been laid at the scene and tied to a lamppost close to the crash and police have released an appeal for anyone with dashcam footage, or any witnesses to come forward to help with the investigation. The other two men involved in the fatal smash were assessed and treated for minor injuries before being discharged at the scene
What happened at the scene?
The crash happened at around 7:42 am on Wednesday morning on Houndsfield Lane near Hollywood on the outskirts of the village of Wythall. The road is a winding country lane just off the junction of Hollywood Lane, Lea Green Lane, which is a very busy route.
Emergency services raced to the scene of the collision where crews found three male patients. Work began on all three men, and advance life support was provided by the ambulance service. Sadly, despite the best efforts of medics, West Midlands Ambulance confirmed nothing could be done to save one of the men.

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson confirmed: "A man has died following a two-car RTC [on Wednesday] morning. West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Houndsfield Lane, Hollywood, near to the Worcestershire and Birmingham border at 7.42am and sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma doctor to the scene.
They added: “Crews arrived to find two cars that had suffered significant damage and three patients, all male. One of the patients was trapped inside his vehicle and ambulance staff worked with emergency services partners to provide advanced life support whilst he was being freed.
"Treatment continued once the patient was out of the car but sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene. The remaining two patients were assessed and treated for minor injuries before being discharged at the scene.”

Police appeal
West Mercia Police have urged anyone that can help with enquiries to get in touch. A West Mercia spokesperson said: "Officers are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision on Houndsfield Lane, Hollywood in Worcestershire. The collision happened on Wednesday 26 July at around 7.45am involving two vehicles. Two people in one vehicle were injured in the incident but neither have life threatening or life changing injuries.
"Sadly, the other driver died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. Officers carrying out enquiries into the collision are appealing for witnesses, including any motorists on the road around the time with dash-cam footage. "
