Final chance to have a say on first phase of Fulbourn Greenway
There is still time to have a say on proposals for the eastern section of the Fulbourn Greenway.
Designed to improve walking and cycling journeys, phase one of the Greater Cambridge Partnership scheme would run between Yarrow Road and Fulbourn village.

It includes a 20mph speed limit and cycle-friendly speed bumps along Apthorpe Street, Cow Lane and Hinton Road, along with features to help people cross or travel through junctions more safely and easily.
The GCP is working with Network Rail on phase two to link the village with Cambridge Railway Station and these proposals are due to be put to the public at a later date.
Thomas Fitzpatrick, the GCP’s transport programme manager, said: “The greenways are being designed with the communities who will use them to get to work , see their friends or just go out for exercise.
“Part of a 150km network, the Fulbourn Greenway aims to play its part in providing more sustainable alternatives to the car, helping to ease pressure on our streets as Cambridge continues to grow.”
The consultation, which runs until midday on Friday, July 21, follows an earlier one in 2018.
“We are asking people about phase one of this scheme so we can get the proposed safety improvements on the ground sooner, while we work with Network Rail on phase two of the scheme. We hope to be able to bring those designs out later this year,” added Thomas.
The proposed Fulbourn Greenway will eventually link up with the Chisholm Trail and the wider cycling, walking and equestrian network.
The route is part of a dozen greenways[1] planned by the GCP to link villages with Cambridge, but have proved controversial in some areas[2].
So far the GCP has received more than 2,000 responses and has run more than 20 public and virtual events as part of public engagement on the routes connecting Cambridge to Comberton, Haslingfield, Sawston, Barton, Melbourn, Horningsea, Fen Drayton, Over, Oakington and Cottenham, the Swaffhams, Bottisham and villages in between.
