Exact date 96 Kent stations will be closed as more strikes on the way
Kent commuters are set to face further travel disruption later this month as three more days of strike action will grind rail travel to a halt. Southeastern[1] has confirmed that members of the RMT union will be holding industrial action on July 20, 22 and 29, which will have an impact on the majority of Kent stations.
The rail provider has confirmed that, should this strike action go ahead, it would only be able to provide a very limited service between 7am and 7pm on these three dates, with many key routes closed. Southeastern has confirmed that just 58 of its 180 stations will be open, and that there will be no replacement bus services along closed routes.
Those who are travelling on these dates should expect some disruption and are urged to plan and check their full journey before travelling. Trains that are running will likely be busier than normal, are likely to start and finish earlier, and passengers may be unable to board trains where limited services are running, especially on the first few trains in the morning.
Queuing systems will be in place at some stations to ensure that trains have enough room onboard for customers to join all along the route. Journey planners are scheduled to be updated as follows:
-
On Thursday July 13 timetables should be updated for Thursday July 20
-
On Friday July 14 timetables should be updated for Saturday July 22
-
On Friday July 21 timetables should be updated for Saturday July 29
