England needs a national transport strategy sas

The recent Climate Change Committee report[1] highlighted the importance of decarbonising the UK’s transport network – the biggest contributor to emissions in the UK.
Infrastructure professionals, civil engineers, and transport experts want to be part of the solution and find ways to reduce transport’s impact. By designing and implementing sustainable transportation systems, they can help curb emissions and create a more sustainable future.
A National Transport Strategy for England is a crucial step in achieving this outcome. It would provide clear outcomes to work towards and set of principles for sustainable road and rail development, and help align the efforts of engineers, policymakers, and other stakeholders.
That’s why the Institution of Civil Engineers is recommending that the UK Government develop a National Transport Strategy for England.
Further details are in the below release.
